I just uploaded a new version of the 2.0-a-5 snapshot on the apache
snapshot repository.
Please try it "mvn
org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-archetype-plugin:2.0-alpha-5-SNAPSHOT:generate"
don't forget to use the new snapshot repository
