my apologies for the red herring. my failure was not moblin exactly.
i have a setup script that i run after boot and one of its commands is
'hostname EeePC'.
executing that command breaks the accessory launch i was whining about.
i take that out and the netbook works fine as localhost.
again, sorry about the false report, jackc...
No worries - we really appreciate the help and commitment. After all
you are testing the RC that hasn't even been announced, yet :-)
Please keep the reports coming.
(and I do wonder why setting the hostname breaks the accessory
launch... that does sound like a bug to me, either way)

i have been using this setup script since the early beta's and had no
suspicion that could suddenly break; my bad.
but the goal has and remains to try and provide useful feedback; i will
be more diligent though going forward.
i cant wait to surf the net in my truck from my moblin platform. :O
thx again, jackc...
