Cool, I was actually able to get things working by just getting rid of the splashscreen line and the vga=current kernel arg.
Things work well but once I install the VBoxLinuxAdditions and turn on 3D support for my VM, things fall apart. Leaving 3D off works. There's something fishy with VBox 3D support. Anyone else see that? Doug.
