you can find up to date work here
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MOJO-248
quick formula:
mvn install -Dmaven.test.skip=true
mvn deb:dev
There's still a lot of work to do, I'll try to submit patches, but I wanted to get the initial modifications on svn asap
please, let me know of any issues
NOTE: this it a move from 'does not compile' to 'works', now it should evolve to 'works fine' 'works excellent' ....
It's a way of saying there are many things I don'e like in the code now, but it it better than it was before

it's great to hear this
I'll try to submit a patch for the changes I've made in asap.
currently I've dropped the tests development, it's kindda diffcult for me to get it working,
I'm focusing on getting the plugin to somehow work
I'll submit a patch soonOn 1/18/06, Matt Brozowski < [EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:I am very interested in the deb plugin. I have been busy converting my
large project to maven2. I am currently trying to get the rpm
packaging to work but will work on the .deb packaging when that is
finished. If you create a Jira issue and put your patches there I am
more than happy to help you work on them when I finish with the rpm
stuff I am doing. If could be that the rpm plugin could be a good
'guideline' the functioning of the deb plugin in the long term
