I complained about this on IRC in mid-February. You said you were going to talk to the JAXB project about publishing an actual release in the maven-repository. Short of that, you can do a normal maven-upload request. The reason this is a bad idea is that, as it stands today, xfire, SM and openejb all have their own copy. Now, if they all reference their own copy, and for example, SM has a dependency on openejb and xfire, SM gets 3 copies of JAXB and has no way of knowing they are the same thing. That's not fun. If it's your own distribution of jaxb, repackaged in some way, its a fine solution. If not, then it shouldn't be done. > >> Can they be updated to a proper group ID? > > Your call...are the JAXB2 jars in ibiblio? Whats the proper group id? > I am not seeing them under com.sun.*. No, they'll need to be uploaded through the normal procedures or put into java.net. So far the convention seems to be to put the RI in the javax.[...] group ID. After this, I'd certainly +1 the release, but I don't want to see it happen before that. - Brett
