I would take the following steps to help to fix this:
* check out the project
(http://mojo.codehaus.org/exec-maven-plugin/source-repository.html) from the
trunk.
* create an integration test
(http://svn.codehaus.org/mojo/trunk/mojo/exec-maven-plugin/src/it/) to
reproduce it. There's already one for MEXEC-79, you could use that as example.
Try to keep it as simple as possible.
* Try to write a verification-script. The test should fail because you expect
something else than the current result.
* Next dive in the code and try to find the problem.
Most important is to have a good test. From there we can help with a
verification script and a bugfix if you're stuck.
