I don't mind if we use GIT or Subversion. I use Subversion more in an
enterprise environment and it always worked fine and encourages people
to commit back to a system that (I would assume) is backed up and
maintained by sysadmins. With a DVCS, there is always the buyer-beware
responsibility of remembering to merge your code back to the master.
However, I'd like some clarification:
1. Will all projects be moved over in their entirety and by whom? I'm
working on (but haven't been actively committing in a few months due to
other priorities) the JavaScript Maven Plugin and the Natural Docs
Plugin. I'd hate to see those be lost while the more popular projects
get all of the attention.
2. If the plan is to move to GitHub, then is the plan to basically
abandon CodeHaus? GitHub has it's own issue tracking system... probably
little need for CodeHaus anymore.
I'm actually kinda surprised if the plan is #2.
I've never had a problem with the current CodeHaus system, so I'm kind
of surprised by this thread.
