Brian Brooks edited a comment on MOJO-1941 1.0-alpha-7 manifest goal mt.exe : general error c101008d: Failed to write the updated manifest to the resource of file The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process I've spent a few hours debugging the problem and so far it looks like the root cause is Jenkin's hudson.maven.reporters.MavenFingerprinter. The file doesn't get locked until this reporter fires as a result of the hudson.maven.Maven3Builder.MavenExecutionListener.recordMojoEnded notification processing. Looks like this problem may have been introduced in Jenkins 1.517 by this commit... https://github.com/jenkinsci/jenkins/commit/51fbd2d8675fb3703ce38d935e661abf03e1b83b I'm going to go ahead and close this issue. There are already a couple of related issues filed against Jenkins.
