SebbASF commented on MVERSIONS-230 display-*-updates: Default to ignore spurious SNAPSHOT versions I am only asking for an optional setting to allow users of the Maven scheme to get sensible results back from the display-update goals. I don't see how this can be taken to encourage changes in version numbering schemes; the point is to make the displays useful. Yes, of course I can create my own rules.xml; I have already done this. The problem is that the user error is something that cannot now be corrected, yet it causes problems for lots of people. Note that some of those odd versions are in Maven plugins and some of the Commons ones were uploaded by Maven developers.
