You are right, but: - many Jira-Keys of Apache sub projects do not correspond to their "umbrella" project: TOMAHAWK, TRINIDAD, ... - of course their could be another Apache project implementing JSR301, but the same problem applies to the long name: if we name the sub project "Apache JSF Portlet Bridge" a later implementation will have the same problem finding a proper long name. Well, first come, first serve... ;-) - regarding the JSR456 thing: you are right that is a showstopper for the key "JSR301"
Well, Jira seems down at the moment. AFAIK there is no way to change a key after creation.
