Thank you for your feedback.
I think the case you describe should be resolved with my next patch (I'll try 
to post it by the end of the week). Column width reconciliation between content 
and header is now 2-way, and handles the case where a given width cannot be 
applied because the content forces it to be bigger.

I'm still facing issues with auto-resizable pop-ups. When it's ready I'll post 
the patch. It still won't be perfect, but hopefully a step closer to it ! I'm 
really amazed by the fact that there is still NO clean way to make a 100% pure 
scrollable html table that retains important table properties, like widths in 
percentages.
