Intervening here since it seems that parties have misconstrued the
mail(s). What (I perceive) Gora wanted to highlight was the current lul
in the action-on-field vis-a-vis L10n. On the other hand, Raman and his
team have shown that work can be done within the framework in place to
make sure that news about FLOSS L10n gets press.

Like I said, this paragraph if stated above might have led to a lesser
number of mails being exchanged :)

HCL is also selling a Windows XP Starter Edition bundle (tongue firmly
in cheek). The idea that Linux on the desktop at sub 10K INR is finally
possible because the commonly used applications are available in local
languages or have a well discussed roadmap of becoming available. That
gives confidence to the vendors who wish to sell the hardware. What is
required at this stage is a roadmap from the developer community as to
how they plan to carry the work forward across the versions and provide
the required level(s) of QA and consistency.

As someone who has been privy to how magazines decide on CDs, let's not
go into this.

Not free fonts might cause a problem when you articulate a completely
FLOSS stack. The ideal notion might be to create a project wherein all
the components are also developed and released under FLOSS licenses.

:)

This is going more into [OT] space.
