Charles Schultz will be the guy to open the project for the sardanian localization. However I can tell you that you could and translate the reference that is included on the XML files for the menus and toolbars, they are located here:
/opt/openoffice.org2.0/share/config/soffice.cfg/modules/

here you will see the xml files that have the definitions and actual strings for the diferent components, whtih this you will also see open xmll files hich you can translate. With this you will have something to start with.

Another task is the help files which you can find at documentation.openofice.org

Subject: NLC Project - Sardinian

Hi,

we are a mixed group of people (linguists, developers, text writers) who would like to localise openoffice in the Sardinian language. For the moment we would like to translate the menus of the tools and later on move also to the help section.
We also plan to work with l10n projects.

We would also like to provide OO with an "official" Sardinian language spelling checker. In fact we already have a prototype spelling checker which may be used with a workaround. This prototype has been developed from the Sardinian spelling checker available for Abiword (Ispell). It is based on a dictionary which is also available on-line: www.ditzionariu.org

We agree to abide to the OpenOffice.org guidelines and policies.

Cheers,

   Francesco Cheratzu
