International Mother Language Day - 21 February - should be a day of
celebration for the Native Language Confederation. Through the work of
our Native Language Projects, OOo is helping to preserve digitally
endangered languages. What can you do in your language to promote the
work of OOo on 21st February?
See: http://www.unesco.org/education/imld2007
It would be great if we could announce the arrival of new languages, or
the formation of new projects, or some statistics on how much progress
we made since International Mother Language Day in 2006 (2006-7 was
dedicated to "Languages and Cyberspace"). Has anyone any statistics?
All ideas welcome...
I guess this was an idea of yours; but perhaps we could design a web
page where everybody of the NLC would upload his/her picture ... Frappr
might be a good idea. Anyone?
What about a large poster with dozens / hundreds / thousands of photos
on it?
If you don't have any problems to have your image spread all over the
world, you may upload a *small* one (about 60 x 120 pixel to avoid
larger reproductions) to an issue I'm going to create in a few minutes.
If we spread this information among all the different projects, there
might be quite a number of photos on such a poster...
Best regards
Bernhard
