First, thank you again Ivan for taking the time to do this!
So here are my comments. One is general and the other ones stem from
my own tests.
- We do avoid to put flags when it comes to NLC, that's true. Yet, to
Ivan's credits, I only get to see a dark blue flag with white stuff on
it, which I assume to be the United Nations' standard. If this is the
case then I think it's fine, because it does not actually represent
one country in particular. The other option, of course, is to use the
NLC logo (see the NLC page with the small globe and the birds).
- I have ran quick tests on my Mac OS X Leopard with Firefox 3.04,
Safari 3.2.1 and even Omniweb 5.8 (a Mac browser using Webkit): there
is no general issue, although both Safari and Omniweb will display [fr-
fr] wheras Firefox will only show [fr]
