Well, Hugo would be an odd choice. If you don't want Java, why would you pick Go! ;-) So, put together a migration proposal that handles everything the current stack has to handle then! The proposal is half-baked at present because that doesn't exist. There is no suggestion of a JBake replacement or proposal in place to manage migration of content and config. And please stop making this some false dichotomy between frontend and backend developers, or between choice of language of the SSG. It isn't one.
