Sounds good! Maybe call them beta-1, beta-2, or -rc1, -rc2, etc. though? Be good to keep -vc for voting candidates as was originally intended? I agree that having a voting thread for builds that aren't ready to be released doesn't make much sense, but likewise not sure tagging them as voting candidates does either.
