But it would be possible to create a pre-build SmartFS image using the FUSE filesystem under Linux, and then include that image as a binary blob into your application ... you would just have to ensure all the MTD access and alignment are taken care of.
Your FUSE filesystem has been lost in the github world due to licensing issues (it is GPL). It is still available at https://bitbucket.org/nuttx/tools/src/master/ , but not well known to most people.
This is where you can find the NuttX uClibc++ port and the NuttX buildroot toolchain as well, also lost due to license conflicts.
