The plan makes sense but I would suggest to set the acceptance bar rather high 
in step #1: we should only keep documentation that has proven to be useful, 
used and maintained. When we are in doubt we could get an export and save it in 
a zipped archive somewhere and then remove the pages. If we keep a lot of 
information that is half baked it will be difficult for people like Sharan and 
Ron to maintain it and assure a good level of quality.
And I would add another step:
f) move the (survived) pages to the Wiki and then drop this Confluence space; 
the project really doesn't need all these spaces anymore
