Not including a next link in a partial representation of the requested result 
violates the OData specification, see 
http://msopentech.com/odataorg/wp-content/uploads/sites/21/v2ms-odata.pdf#page=175:

[...] if the response from server to client includes a representation of a 
partial 
set of the entities identified by the request URI, then the response MUST 
include a "next link" [...]
