Yeah, you are right. OTOH, we are really trying to reboot the project, and it's more about 'officially' get the people who expressed their will to be part of the effort be voted in. Once we get a real PPMC (ie, once we have at least 3 active committers on the project), then we can switch to the private list for such votes. I don't think that, at this stage, and more important, considering the state of this project, that doing things behind closed doors would make any good to the project. But thanks for the reminder !
