There have been a number of threads recently that seem to have been more
controversial than needed - or is healthy - for such a widespread
community like AOO.
While there have been a number of different suggestions about behaviors
and details of voting rules, I think a far simpler suggestion to reduce
the level of controversy in heated threads is already written down in
the project's List Conduct Guidelines:
5. Relax
"Always remember that unless there is a darn good reason, nothing gets
decided at the ASF in less than 72 elapsed hours, so your reply can wait
until morning. ..."
