Reina,

I am going to attempt a fresh install of Symphony to see if I can
duplicate the problem. I will be installing on Windows Vista (x86)
in a Virtual Machine. It has no Java installed. I will remove
OpenOffice 3.4.0 and also perform a full security scan
before I install Symphony.

I think you said you are using Windows 7. Is that correct?

I am going to download from this site:

I will download Lotus Symphony 3.0.1,
the Fixpack 2 for Lotus Symphony 3.0.1 (it might not be a full
install),
the Spell Check Dictionaries.

I'll perform the installation in that order.

If there is some interference involving other software, I may not
have the same experience as you. I will have Microsoft Security
Essentials and Windows Defender active, however.

I have no accessibility software installed or activated on the
system.

 - Dennis

Subject: Re: Problems with Accessibility in Open Office

Hello:

I tried twice to download Symphony, and I am running into
complications. Both times, I have received the following error:

---------------------------
IBM Lotus Symphony
---------------------------
The launcher failed with an error. Refer to
C:\Users\Reina\IBM\Lotus\Symphony\\logs\rcplauncher.log for more
information.
---------------------------
OK

I did click on the “okay” button, and the installation continued. I
did, and the window containing the installer closed automatically.
Then, I tried clicking on the program from my desktop and my start
menu; however, the program did not open. I can try to troubleshoot it
when I have a lot of time; however, I am wondering if there are any
tips you or Dennis can offer for trying to get the program to work. I
will try whatever you can offer me.

I have also tried uninstalling this program from my computer, but it
does not show up in my control panel. If I need to remove it, and it
is possible I will need to because it is not working properly, I will
have to remove Symphony manually using more extensive methods.

I look forward to getting this program to work, so I can analyze it
and provide my input to you, since you will be using much of this
code.

Warm regards,
Reina Grosvalet
