The bug says, that the application icon is not visible on Mac OS X 10.5.8. I investegate in this bug, and found out, that the actual main.icns is not compatible with Mac OS X 10.5.8. 10.6 and heighter works find.
I created a new main.icns who is compatible. I also tested the Icon on 10.7 but I have not tested on 10.6 and 10.8.
To test this you have simply to overwrite /Applications/OpenOffice.app/Contents/Resources/main.icns wich the one i provide in the bug.
If there are no objections, I will commit this to the branch AOO40. I'm not sure, if i should commit this in the main, because we plain to drop the support for 10.5.x
