To avoid confusion: when you download from the official site (i.e. when you click the "Download" button in http://www.openoffice.org/download/index.html ) you are, in a sense, "redirected" to SourceForge, since the binary file is downloaded from there. And the download will appear to come from something.dl.sourceforge.net (in Europe I've often see heanet.dl.sourceforge.net and several others).
So there are no problems with this "redirection". This is what happens for a genuine download from the official page.
