Well, the update feed has a way to tell the application architecture with inst:arch, so that <inst:arch>X86_64</inst:arch> for MacOSX will be the same as removing the whole MacOSX entry, because all previous MacOSX installations are x86; this will of course disable all notifications for MacOSX.
