Hi, first of all thank you for choosing OpenOffice as an MS Office alternative, definitely a good choice.
OpenOffice can be downloaded from our official download page http://www.openoffice.org/download/ We cooperate here with Sourceforge and that is the reason why you become redirected on a Sourceforge page when you download the program. normally the download start automatically after a few seconds, just wait. Other download options can you ignore. OpenOffice needs Java for some features but that is all and normally Java is already installed. If no Java is in place it no big thing and only some feature won't work.
