There’s a Wikipedia article on the project, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux_Terminal_Server_Project. An article from 2009 describes LTSP + Ubuntu: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuLTSP/Tour I used to strongly advocate thin clients using OpenOffice as good solutions, especially for schools. However, nowadays, it’s rare to find anyone who will even use the term, “thin client.” Blame it on tablets and the lure of pretty things :-) One can also use nowadays various “cloud” solution where OpenOffice is run on a sever and the user windows into it on his or her local machine. RollApp, for instance, does something like that. It’s not alone. > 2. Can we open latest version MS office file with is version and in > future also. Yes. As with any editing of MS Office, much depends on the file. Rule of thumb is that the more complex the file and the older it is, the likelier one will encounter formatting issues. These can be aggravating but as more and more move to modern systems and installations, they are more infrequent. > > > > Waiting for your reply. Please consider using our forums. They’re pretty good and the people there are more tuned to these sort of questions. This is actually a kind of developer list.
