I have been following the branch and it looks well.
Also, ydario@ was contacted about the OS/2 builds and I am sure he will
catch up.
I did most of the illumos changes that I considered portable enough and
didn't
break tests so I think they will catch up too.
For a future wishlist (yeah .. I know I am abusing here), it would be
nice to
move to at least MSVC10 for the Windows build as that would let us drop
the Ms 2008 redistributables (for Windows 2000, I recall).

For furture releases we should think about to decrease limits, e.g.,
introduce newer baseline requirements for the OS.
However, this is not for the current release line (4.x). It would be
uncommon to do such kind of changes with the next release.
(I'm sure, you didn't meant it this way. I just want to point this out
to do this over a longer time period.)
We should announce first what we want to change with a bigger release in
the future - like baseline req for Linux, marking old APIs as
deprecated, rethinking the minimal Java version, etc.
