There is a current project for which newcomers to the OpenOffice team
may be able to make a particularly valuable contribution. The objective
is to find out whether a set of instructions are usable and work. For
this, being unfamiliar with the background is an advantage.
To participate, you need to subscribe to dev@openoffice.apache.org, if
you have not already done so. Review the archive at
http://mail-archives.apache.org/mod_mbox/openoffice-dev/ and read the
thread with subject "[TESTING] Applying openoffice-4.1.2-patch1 for
Windows". I have quoted the base message, which contains the most
important information, below.
