And a libxml2 in the ure package linked against libz.so.1 would not cause a dependency on whatever package that is in for you? Sounds broken to me. Otherwise it just should pick it up and you're fine; and again zlib is there on all platforms anyway, and stuff we already use externally in any case are linked against zlib anyway to start with.
