Just want to add a comment. All ASF project's main release artifact is the source code tarball as you see in the below.
https://downloads.apache.org/orc/orc-1.7.9/orc-1.7.9.tar.gz https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/release/orc/orc-1.7.9/orc-1.7.9.tar.gz All the other artifacts like Maven Central(jars) and Homebrew(orc-tools) are just auxilary and derived ones.
