Raw numbers at
http://wiki.osafoundation.org/bin/view/Projects/PerformanceProject

It seems like we had good progress across the board. The brightest spot
is the creation of new calendar: times on all platforms are now under
acceptable threshold, and I've closed the bug. Note: only with the
practically empty repository.

Startup times have improved noticeably, as is the case of importing a
3000 event calendar.

Tests 7-9 show unchanged or much increased times, but this is almost
certainly due to a change in the way the tests are run: previously a
repository was created in test #5, and reused for 6-9. Now 7-9 have
their own testcases which first create a 3000 event calendar, then start
the timer, and do the action, then stop the timer. The previous way gave
smaller numbers because caches etc. were already created.
