My intention four days ago was to reduce your amount of time in analyzing
reported bugs from users, which are using different Java versions on differnt
OS settings.
The dev team is spending a lot of time with PDFBox and is doing a great job.
Over 950 resolved issues in PDFBox 2.0! But in my opinion you shouldn't waste
time in analyzing EOL Java versions or maybe to program workaround for Java 6
bugs, which won't be fixed anymore by Oracle.
It can be a lot easier when you are saying that your recommendation for Java 5
and 6 is PDFBox 1.8.x and for Java 7 and 8 is PDFBox 2.0. Or reverse: minimum
requirement is Java 7 for PDFBox 2.0
