I've looked at some of the sample files and opened them in Adobe Reader and OS
X Preview. For many of the samples the result is different. For
[^AnnotationSample.Standard.pdf] Adobe Reader asks for saving the file when
closing which indicates that some of the content has been generated behind the
scenes. One of the issues is that sometimes OSX Preview shows content which
Reader doesn't. e.g. for [^PDFBOX-2019-Annotations.pdf] OS X Preview shows the
text "Circle Annotation" in the red circle where Reader doesn't show any text.
So we might face the issue that whatever we render one user will argue that in
his viewing application it looks different/can be displayed. Shall we use Adobe
Reader (a specific version) as the one to compare to? A different viewer?
