(1) I am asking to document that getFontDescriptor() may be null, and under
what conditions this may occur.
(2) I am trying to group text into columns and rows. I am asking whether it
would be possible to add a new API method that would enable users to take the
text passed into writeString() and look up the ascent/descent of individual
characters.
