It is for parallel execution of a pipeline. User registers listener through
PigRunner API:

public static PigStats run(String[] args, PigProgressNotificationListener
listener) ;
{code}
It's expected that the same listener is used by all the threads (each executes
an instance of the pipeline) in parallel.
