Uploaded first version of patch [^PIG-4923.1.patch] - since the diff is large
I published a review requests on reviewboard too:

-shims layer for Hadoop has been removed, hadoop20 code is deleted, hadoop23
code has been merged into the main src dir
-hbase 94 support is removed
-build.xml's have been updated, some structure is left (like -h2 suffix) to
make it easier to adopt to Hadoop 3 in the future
-Util.isHadoop2 / 23 method removed, and their usages refactored
-launch scripts updated
-documentation updated
