I just submitted the request for a git mirror for Pivot. https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-3854 I'm not sure about converting the Extras repositories to git at the moment. If we convert, it should make it easier for (git) users to contribute quickly and easily, and the Extras projects are probably well suited to this because they likely to have less dependencies in the code. However, this might alienate SVN users. If it remains as SVN, git users will still be able to access the repository using git-svn, but would probably end up submitting patches for changes.
