So, there's a BIG issue:  are we completely good in all our text controls with 
surrogate pairs??  Seems like a lot of code I've seen is using "CharSequence" 
as the interface, which doesn't deal correctly with surrogate pairs ....  Now 
that may have changed somewhat now that I'm using TextLayout in the edit 
controls (or soon will be with TextArea), but that doesn't fix "Label" drawing 
(for instance)...
