Hi, I'm currently looking at enhancing the Word and PowerPoint parsing functionality in Apache Tika, and I was wondering about the current status of the relevant code in POI scratchpad. Is anyone working on the code, and are there plans to release the code at some point?
The functionality is exactly what we need in Tika, and I'd much rather leverage released POI code than duplicate things in Tika. What would it take to Word and PowerPoint code in scratchpad released? PS. At the moment I'm not interested in the new OOXML stuff, but Tika will likely need support for also that formats soon enough.
