Oh I'm sorry I guess I didn't make it clear. Simply have the patent holder which has hired you to contribute the work (Microsoft) submit a CLA-C regarding the work. Very simple. Since they wish to see this go forward, they should have no problem doing so....unless they wish to force users of POI to sign RAND or NON-COMMERCIAL USE licenses for said patents. In that case then POI wouldn't be open source (it would fail the OSD). By signing the CLA-C they show that they haven't just hired a third party to avoid submitting a CLA-C which protects POIs users from patent suits. If they are unwilling to do that then they obviously are. I see this as pretty simple really. Until then I'm -1. Please back out the XSSF changes.

Your word has nothing to do with it. Work for hire by a software patent holder in the area of the work for hire. Obviously that needs a CLA-C. Not personal at all. I simply want POI to stay open source.

I'm sorry Andy, but while I understand (and support!) where you're coming from, I don't really see what would satisfy you. If you're saying that all the legwork we've done is fine, yet you're challenging my word on this, I don't see how we can really have a conversation. There is evidence in terms of official documents (C/I-CLA), there is an SVN history showing you that all the work has come from Sourcesense, there is my declaration that we haven't been tainted by MS IP and that we are legally authorized to contribute this code... what else can I do?

Ciao,
