Do please. Can you create a bug in Bugzilla and attach the corrupted .xlsx file and its CSV version? The simple way to research the problem is to unzip the problematic file and examine sheet.xml . Most XML viewers / editors highlight syntax errors so you should easily spot the culprit character.
