The answer in this case is pretty simple. The person that marked the issue as Invalid made a mistake.

For this particular issue, it should have had a keyword of needmoreinfo added, and if no response was given in a timely fashion it should have been placed in a resolved state of either INVALID do to not enough information, or a state of LATER, if the developer feels there will be more information LATER.

I would think for this issue a status of LATER would be good due to the fact that the issue the developer is having is that the Stack Trace program is flawed which is supposed to be fixed in a new release which would then provide valid stack traces for him to figure out the problem.
