Hi All,
my name is Charles Gardiner and have just completed the initial
registration process.
From my background, I am really more of a hardware/embedded-systems
person but have done a considerable amount of programming in the past as
well. Mostly, C++/Perl/Java for EDA (Electronic Design Automation) task,
i.e. things like parsers/xml-processors/design-flow aids etc. I have
been doing this for about 25 years for a large German Electonics company
but am now an independent consultant since about a year.
I have been a committed StarOffice/OpenOffice user for quite a number of
years, principally for technical documentation and of course try to
convince all around me that it's the tool to use. I have a particular
interest in being able to extract information from technical documents
on an automated basis.
I do actually submit bug-reports when they crop up and I am online and
there is nobody breathing down my neck! In fact, I think I currently
have two open.
I would like to join in the task of making StarOffice/OpenOffice even
better and put some effort back. I'm sure at minimum I can help confirm
some of the open issues (as mentioned on the web-site) or maybe even
lend a hand at some regression testing.

Best regards,
Mit freundlichen Gruessen,
Charles Gardiner
