IIRC, when I did a course some years back, we were taught that number or numeric fields were only to be used for numbers which were to be used for performing operations on (adding, subtracting, averaging etc...). Any field which was not going to be subject to an arithmetic operation should be entered into a text field. You should be able to enter a telephone number (international or otherwise) into a text field without a problem. > > Please advise me. :) > > from Clytie (vi-VN, Vietnamese free-software translation team / nhóm > Việt hóa phần mềm tự do) > http://groups-beta.google.com/group/vi-VN BTW, I'm in Queensland. Pity you are with a different ISP, although if you were using Agile for your land-line it would help, because you could then get cheap phone calls to me :) OTOH, I could call you if you'd like to talk directly about this problem (although I'm no expert by any stretch of the imagination). I have learnt a little about databases at TAFE... :) -- Alex Fisher Co-Lead, CD-ROM Project OpenOffice.org Marketing Community Contact Australia/New Zealand http://distribution.openoffice.org/cdrom/
