On [EMAIL PROTECTED] we discussed how we could better promote developer snapshots. It was suggested to place a download button on a popular QA page to guide people to more recent builds than the most recent stable.

Opinions?

we already have a link on 'second level' of the qa sites called: 'current version': http://qa.openoffice.org/ooQAReloaded/ooQA-JoinQA.html

Hm, you are right and ooQA-ReportBugs.html has the same link. But it doesn't say "Developer Snapshot" (opposed to stable builds).

fitted link names to assure similar wording

Btw, the sitemap for QA webcontent is great and could be linked more prominently - imo.

if this is not good enough (i know that everybody wants his link in the middle of the first page :)

Sure, and of course a big graphical element and not text only :-)

yes ;)

Seriously, I think it is in the interest of the QA project to support the broader distribution of developer builds.

yes, and i think it is now done in a proper way

i would suggest the 'left pannel' with a link in the 'project tools' area

At the end it's up to the QA project whether more downloads are considered helpful...

Greetings
Stefan
