Issue 80816 http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=80816 was found during Italian QA tests and seems to prevent OOo from functioning at all on SELinux-enabled systems (which include Red Hat and Fedora systems with default settings).
Disabling SELinux appears to be the only workaround, and no meaningful error message is given (OOo just prints "no suitable windowing system found, exiting."). Since this is a regression with respect to all the recent (2.x) official stable versions, none of which had this problem, I wonder if issue 80816 can be considered a stopper and fixed for OOo 2.3, not OOo 2.4 which is the current target.
