Hi,

with the upcoming migration of the OOo web site to a new infrastructure
(http://website.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=dev&msgNo=11196),
we will also move from collab.net's IssueZilla to a recent version of
Bugzilla.

(the migration progress with respect to BZ is, at the moment, tracked at
http://kenai.com/projects/ooo-migration/pages/IssueZillaMigration and
http://kenai.com/projects/ooo-migration/pages/Bugzilla-TODO, if you're
interested in)

In this course, of course all the issue data and such will be migrated.

We will also have the chance to do other customizations, for instance to
the workflow (as an example, we'll be able to solve this
NEW/ACCEPTED/STARTED problem by having a dedicated ACCEPTED issue status).

One thing I'd be interested in getting feedback for is the following
question: Do we need the issue types ENHANCEMENT and PATCH? ENHANCEMENT
isn't really different from FEATURE (at least in practice, though in
theory you could define them differently), so it seems to be
superfluous. PATCH, then, could effectively be a TASK with an attachment
of type "Patch".

So, what's your opinion? Should we use that chance to consolidate our
issue types?

Thanks & Ciao
Frank
