Hi,
Hi,
[...snip...] One thing I'd be interested in getting feedback for is the following question: Do we need the issue types ENHANCEMENT and PATCH? ENHANCEMENT isn't really different from FEATURE (at least in practice, though in theory you could define them differently), so it seems to be superfluous.
+1 for this change, seems reasonable to me separating between enhancements and new features is much to fine-granular and often can“t be really done.
PATCH, then, could effectively be a TASK with an attachment of type "Patch".
-1 for this change because we do regularly create and watch some useful statistics on patch handling which is based on having a separate task type "PATCH" which would be to complicated to do if we would have only "TASK" and would have to analyze every Attachment if it is patch file.
Statistics: 1.) Issue inactivity time (IIT) http://tools.services.openoffice.org/patchreport/iit_index.html 2.) Initial response time (IRT) http://tools.services.openoffice.org/patchreport/irt_index.html
So, what's your opinion? Should we use that chance to consolidate our issue types?
Yes, drop ENHANCEMENT and keep PATCH.
Thanks & Ciao Frank
